Artie is the father of Tuuq and the grandfather of Pia from Lago Degli Orsi Kennels in Italy. Artie is an incredibly beautiful dog. I imported his semen from Kennel Barrenfield in Canada in 2002 - one of the most respected and successful Alaskan Malamute kennels in the world. Semen import to Norway is a demanding process with many formal requirements, but Sandy and Jerry's capacity made it smooth, and also made it clear to me that their success is not a coincidence. Their intelligent and knowledgeable advices have been a priceless asset to me.
Artie's frozen semen produced 6 healthy, energetic, and beautiful puppies for me, and one beautiful female in another kennel here. I have a breeding left of Artie's semen and look forward to the next generation of Barrenfield puppies!
All 6 pups from my litter after Artie, and also the female in a different kennel, have been checked on hips and eyes. All hips were A (Excellent/Good), and all eyes Clear. There are pictures of two of his llitter sisters on the picture page - Inupiat's Qipmich Qavvik and Inupiat's Qipmich Mikiruq. Mikiruq was sold to the arctic island Svalbard far north of Norway. Sledding and cross country skiing is popular in Norway, so a dogs will and ability to work is very important when you breed here: several of the pups after Artie are very hard, energetic, and beautiful workers.
